Our Portfolio
Nature is our greatest ally in building an equitable, climate-resilient future for people and planet.
Climate Resilient by Nature, an Australian Government initiative in partnership with WWF-Australia is supporting nature-based solutions across nine countries in Indo-Pacific.
Nature-based solutions are actions that protect, restore, and sustainably manage ecosystems such as forests, mangroves, reefs and freshwater. These actions not only help to reduce emissions but are also one of the most cost-effective ways to build resilience to the devastating impacts of climate change.
At the same time, nature-based solutions support the sustainable development aspirations of the communities and economies that depend on those ecosystems - from enhancing local livelihoods and diversifying income streams, to helping communities better adapt and respond to climate shocks and stresses.
The bottom line is, when nature thrives, communities do too.

Our impact
Climate Resilient by Nature’s goal is to support Pacific and Southeast Asian communities to be more socially, economically, and ecologically resilient through equitable nature-based solutions to climate change. This is a glimpse of what we have achieved so far:
Almost 13,000 people in 160 communities
engaged in nature-based solutions.
43,000 hectares of land and seascapes
have conservation, protection or restoration activities underway.
Over 3,000 people engaged in nature-based livelihoods
across areas including aquaculture, environmental management and agriculture.
Our approach
Nature-based solutions are hugely diverse. There is no one size fits all. This is why we support and scale high integrity, community-led nature-based solutions by working in partnership. The leadership of Indigenous People and Local Communities is critical for the success of nature-based solutions. Learn more about our approach to nature-based solutions and meet some of the communities leading the solutions in the video below.
