Nature-positive livelihoods webinar

The recording from our learning event, Nature-positive livelihoods: Lessons learned from experiences with nature-based solutions, is now available!

Nature-based solutions protect, restore, and sustainably manage ecosystems such as forests, mangroves, reefs and freshwater, providing important ways to address societal challenges, including building resilience to climate change. Such challenges do not affect everyone in the same way. Faced with this reality, it is important that nature-based solutions start with an understanding of the realities of peoples’ livelihood strategies, addressing different needs and circumstances and identifying and prioritising those who are most at risk.

However, it is also critical that livelihoods are nature-positive, allowing people to live well and meet their needs, while ensuring nature thrives in the process.

This online learning event shares lessons learned on how to best support nature-positive livelihoods and identify and manage trade-offs through the project cycle of nature-based solutions. It includes a research presentation from Woodhill Consulting and case studies presented by Marijke Frantzen, CEO of Kyeema Foundation and Ret Thaung, Forest Carbon Manager, Nakau.
