Nature-based solution training report

A two-day NbS Training, hosted by WWF-Pacific with support from WWF-Australia, successfully strengthened regional capacity for nature-based solutions. Bringing together 20 participants - including community leaders, government representatives, and WWF staff - the workshop delivered hands-on learning in NbS principles, policy integration, inclusive project design, and monitoring.

Participants developed draft community NbS concepts and left equipped with practical tools to implement and champion nature-based solutions in their own contexts. The training fostered a growing network of Pacific practitioners, promoting peer learning and future collaboration.

Despite challenges such as varying baseline knowledge and limited time, the workshop met its objectives and laid a strong foundation for more inclusive, community-driven NbS initiatives across the region. It also reinforced WWF’s leadership in building local capacity and advancing climate and nature solutions in partnership with communities and governments.
