Nature can help us address the biggest challenges facing our world.

Climate Resilient by Nature (CRxN) is an Australian Government initiative, in partnership with WWF-Australia, advancing high-integrity, equitable nature-based solutions to climate change in the Indo-Pacific.

Launched in 2021, it supports projects that work with communities to restore and protect critical ecosystems, build sustainable livelihoods and increase resilience to climate shocks.

CRxN supports nature-based solutions projects

Nature-based solutions can be applied to address a range of problems including mitigating and adapting to the challenges of climate change.

CRxN supports projects that offer a sustainable pathway for communities to improve their well-being and protect themselves from climate-related disasters.

These projects harness the power of natural ecosystems to address the interrelated challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change and sustainable development.

Climate Resilient by Nature Indo-Pacific Knowledge Hub

At the core of the initiative is the Climate Resilient by Nature Indo-Pacific Knowledge Hub . Bringing together traditional knowledge and cutting-edge science, the Hub will build partnerships and a community of practice.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • The future of carbon markets

  • How blue foods can help protect and restore carbon ecosystems

  • The critical role of indigenous and locally managed areas in powering nature-based solutions

”Nature-based solutions are actions to protect, sustainably manage, and restore natural and modified ecosystems that address societal challenges effectively and adaptively, simultaneously providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits.”
