Climate Resilient by Nature End of Program Independent Evaluation

WWF‑Australia commissioned the Institute for Sustainable Futures, University of Technology (UTS-ISF) to undertake an independent end‑of‑program evaluation of the Climate Resilient by Nature (CRxN) program from April 2025 to February 2026.

The evaluation assessed CRxN’s program design, implementation and outcomes across ten projects in ten countries, with in‑depth case studies in Solomon Islands, Vietnam, Lao PDR and Vanuatu. Drawing on project documentation, grey and academic literature and informant interviews combined with participatory evaluation and collaborative analysis, the evaluation provides lessons and recommendations to inform future nature‑based solutions programming. WWF‑Australia’s management response outlines how these findings will be addressed and used to strengthen learning, partnerships and impact.

In an online learning event hosted by WWF-Australia, the evaluation team presented the key lessons from CRxN for nature-based solutions policy and programming. The webinar also featured case studies from CRxN projects and shared how WWF is taking these learnings forward.
